I've never been terribly fond of the crusty end slices of a loaf of bread before (except those of a baguette). However, when I came home this afternoon and unwrapped my freshly-baked whole wheat loaf it just smelled so good. I picked the crusty first slice of this supple bread and ate it, dipping it into a cup of milk. Delicious!
